November 6 we will be doing a Peace and Green Theme!
It’s the first week of the month, and we are back at our Uptown start spot: Dat Dog on Freret (5031 Freret, http://bit.ly/JMWraz). As always, they will be treating us to the normal food and drink specials (10% off food and ask the bartender for drink specials). Make sure to arrive early if you want to get food! The ride will begin around 7:45, and we will have a tracker running for those who are late or want to catch up mid-way.
Nov. 6 is the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict. In keeping with our anti-littering message, we would like to emphasize our insistence on Leaving No Trace with a Green Theme. No matter the activity, the environment shouldn’t pay the price!
Veterans Day is also right around the corner (and so is Thanksgiving), and we are all too familiar with the fact that many of our veterans come back home with physical and mental battle scars and end up homeless. So we would like to ask everyone to bring out donations of canned goods, which we will gather and bring to a local homeless shelter to do our small part to feed those that are in need.
Afterparty will be at The Club Ms. Mae’s at Napoleon and Magazine)! The food truck Burgers Ya Heard! will be stationed outside for late night grub, and the bar will be serving up $2 Fireball shots and $3 LA 31 bottles (along with other cheap drinks Ms. Maes is known for).

Please note: Our goal is always to create a safe environment for all riders. We cannot control, nor do we desire to control, every rider’s behavior. Every rider is individually responsible for taking care of themselves and for the safe operation of their bicycles. Every person that joins the ride is accepting the risks which are inherent in riding a bicycle with a large group of other people riding bicycles. Please be courteous to each other as well as other traffic on the roadways, be safe and always be sure to leave no trace! Please be aware of your surroundings at all times and do not leave your valuables and belongings unattended without securing them. Please also read and abide by the 10 Rules of the Ride, which can be found here: http://www.nolasocialride.org/rulesoftheride/
