On December 4th our theme will be The Warriors: Know Your Gang!
It’s the first week of the month, and we are back at our Uptown start spot: Dat Dog on Freret (5030 Freret, http://bit.ly/JMWraz). As always, they will be treating us to the normal food and drink specials (10% off food and ask the bartender for drink specials). Make sure to arrive early if you want to get food! The ride will begin around 7:45-8:00PM, and we will have a tracker running for those who are late or want to catch up mid-way.
The theme is the Warriors: Know Your Gang. The objective is to get to know the particular members of NSR in your neighborhood as a means of promoting safety, networking and community while having an awesome time. The basis of the mission will be that the city will be split up by neighborhoods – each neighborhood will be a gang & these gangs will meet for a pre ride around 630 to meet at a designated place (use the comments sections to arrange meet spots!) and take off at ~6:50, depending on how long it takes for them to get to Dat Dog. Anyone that is not a part of a particular neighborhood, feel free to join a neighborhood of your choosing or form your own gang. The neighborhoods will be:
Bywater/Marigny
Uptown
CBD/FQ
Mid-City
+Any others that people choose to designate
Each neighborhood is at liberty to pick their own – selections are first come first serve since we can’t bust out a leather vest or baseball bats please attempt to coordinate and dress cohesively with your neighborhood gang. For example: the Uptown crew will be wearing red bandanas and we will be The Warriors. Make your up your own defining feature and get others to join in! Each neighborhood should arrive at Dat Dog no later than 7:30 so we can all come together and mingle with the entire group and take off as one big happy family at 8PM for an Uptown Ride!
End Spot/Afterparty will be at a top-secret location, where Jeff Darlak will be preparing an end spot that should not be missed! We are not ending at a restaurant or bar, so bring your supplies! For those that drive in and would like to park near the end spot, parking on Oak St is probably the best bet.
Don’t forget that the whole “gang” theme this week is meant to be lighthearted and fun!
